Today I headed off to a remote and particularly beautiful spot in the woods to search for morels. It's near the river, way off the beaten path. I followed the deer trails around for a while, even seeing a big white-tail. And while I struck out on morels, I did find a couple nice specimens of Polyporus squamosus. I last saw these in the arb in May 2006.
